People have been asking me about scheduling the seedlings and when to start their seeds in the light hut.

In response, I put together this quick reference guide for starting seeds.  I did it in approximately 1 hour, so please give me some grace if you find typos or other nonsense.  I’ve already decided I could do much better – but I wanted to get this to you guys.  🙂

It is definitely time to get the seeds going (especially broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, peppers and some others) if you live in a climate like mine.  My last frost date is around the end of April/ beginning of May.   If your last frost is approaching, you probably need to get things started if you haven’t already.

It is possible and probable that there are plants missing from this list.  This list is by no means exhaustive.  These are wonderful crops that can be found growing in my garden.

I tried to list all the plants in the order I plant them.  It seemed like the most logical and simplest way to sort these out.

Growing times and dates may differ depending on where you live and your frost situation.  Please consult your local extension agent or go online to find planting calendars for specifics in your area.  I live in Kentucky.  If you live near me, you will be good to go with these times & dates.

Once the threat of frost has past (here this typically happens Derby week) I begin planting my warm season crops.
