There is nothing like a homegrown tomato. Nothing.
Homegrown tomatoes do not taste like the flavorless, mealy, pale tomatoes sold at the supermarket.
Even the tomatoes sold at farmer's markets and fruit stands are often grown in hothouses, greenhouses and in unnatural environments.
Which means, they are not homegrown tomatoes.
Tomatoes are one of the trickier vegetables to grow. Technically, they are fruit, but that's a different discussion.
