We thoroughly enjoyed the Kentucky State Fair this year.
Actually, we enjoyed it twice.
FAIR TIP: Contact your state fair and see if they have tickets available for homeschool families or large group rates. We were able to snag a plethora of tickets (and free parking) for next to nothing.
The first time we went we cooked for about 1000 people. The second time we just relaxed and had fun.
