Steamed Corn

Steamed Corn

So Easy Steamed Corn

I think grilling or steaming corn is the way to go.

If you boil it or microwave it, it is easy to overcook it and turn it into gum.

The nice thing about steaming it is it cannot be overcooked.

I have this steaming basket that I can stick into the bottom of any pot.  It’s great.

It’s not really a basket.  It’s more like a ledge or shelf.  The point is, it keeps the veggies from sitting in the water, so they can’t overcook.

Just put some water in the bottom of the pot, place the basket on top and drop the veggies into the basket.

It’s great.

To perfectly steam some corn in no time flat:

Add an inch of water to the bottom of a large pot.  Place the steaming basket in there.

Shuck the corn and remove the silks.  Arrange the ears of corn in the basket.

Cover and steam on the stovetop over medium-high heat.  It only takes about 5 minutes of steaming to get the corn tender.

You will know it’s done when the corn turns bright yellow.

Serve hot with butter & salt.

XO,

CJ
