Recipe Notes

First, grab some pizza crusts.  If you don’t have any on hand, make up a batch of pizza dough (recipe here) and pre-bake the crusts a few minutes (5 minutes in a 450-degree oven) so they can be handled.

Next, get the toppings ready.  Topping ideas:  cooked ham, cooked sausage, peppers, tomatoes, onions, fresh basil, fresh mozzarella (or grated), pineapple, mushrooms, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, anchovies, or whatever else you love on pizza.

Once the pizza crusts are ready and the toppings are chopped all that is left to do is tell everyone to come and make their own dinners.

Set out the assembly line in this order:  crusts first, sauce second, toppings third and cheese last.  We save the fresh basil for after baking.

Heat the oven (or ovens) to 450 degrees.  Let the family assemble their creations.  Bake 8-10 minutes (until the crust is crisp and the cheese is melted).
